Faculty Brief
The Faculty of Arts is the oldest in the University. It came into existence when the University was founded in 1990. At that time, it was named Faculty of Arts and Sciences because it offered programmes in both the arts and the sciences. At of the outset of the academic year 2001/2, the Computer Science program was taken off the Faculty and affiliated with a new faculty that was given the name IT Faculty. Accordingly, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences was renamed Faculty of Letters and Arts. Two new programmes were introduced in 2000: Interior Design and Graphic Design. In 2010, those two programmes were separated from the Faculty and affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The Faculty was renamed Faculty of Arts in the academic year 2010/11.
